Stichtite is a member of the Carbonate family. It comes in shades of green with splashes of pink or purple. It is found in several locations around the world and is readily obtainable.

Member of the carbonate family with shades of green, splashes of pink or purple Stichtite was named after Robert Carl Sticht who was formerly General Manager of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Queenstown (Tasmania). Stichtite is found at a number of places majorly on the island of Tasmania in Australia as well as in South Africa and Canada. Stichtite was first time discovered in 1910. Stichtite is formed from hydrated magnesium carbonate mineral. The Stichtite is found in various color range majorly in the light pink shade, medium hot pink shade, deep purple color and some other shades in between. Apart from this, Stichtite occurs with Green Serpentine stone in Tasmania and this mixture is known as Atlantasite.
